In this course, we discuss:
- Jesus' New Law
- Adam, Eve, and the Law
- Law in every book on the Bible
In this course, we focus on the the eternal importance of the law of God. The law is mentioned in every book in the Bible from Genesis to Revelation. If the Bible clearly states that the law is Holy, Eternal, and Spiritual, we must pay attention to how God wants us to understand the law in a spiritual sense.
- How does He want us to obey Him spiritually?
- How is the spiritual obedience connected to the eternal law detailed in the Old Testament?
- How does the sacrificial laws of the Old Testament apply to us today if they are part of the Eternal Law of God?
We focus on the words of Jesus in
- John 13:34-35 King James Version
34 A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. - 35 By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.
If the law to love each other is already part of God's Eternal Law mentioned in
- Leviticus 19: 18 [KJV]
- 18 Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself: I am the Lord.
What did Jesus mean when He said, "I give you a new law/ commandment" ?
If we truly want to understand what God expects from us a believers, we must learn to know what the eternal laws of God mean to us today.
- Psalm 19:9 [Living Bible] "God's laws are pure, eternal, just"
.
- Romans 7:14-25 King James Version (KJV)
- For we know that the law is spiritual
If the law of God is eternal and spiritual, it means that it was there long before Adam and Eve, and that there is a lot more we need to know if we truly want to obey God out of love.
In this course, we look into this statement of Jesus, and how it relates to the eternal law.
